February 10th, 2016 update: This 2016 production of the Daedalus 5.0 was delivered today. Pin # 49 is now marked 'DAEDALUS V5.0'. All preorders and new orders now shipping.
December 23rd, 2015 update: Preorder, restock expected late January 2016. Latest revision that utilizes a new core. PCBs may change to white color (previously they were red color), and the edge connector will be marked with 'NeoStore and/or 'new core' using the same process as seen here.
Most advanced MVS to AES converter available, new in original retail packaging. No more plug and pray! The Daedalus has the highest success rate and usually works at 100% upon initial insertion. These will all be the latest version 4's. Of those sold in the past, only two were v4's. All boards were made in red (see last pic above), which has not been seen since the first 5 converters.
The ultimate in compatibility: Every Neo-Geo revision as well as all power
supplies were tested with all original SNK games and confirmed to work with the
Daedalus. Metal Slug X works on all neo revisions, and even the 150 and 161
multigame carts work!
Confirmed to work with NG:DEV.TEAM games: GUNLORD, Neo XYX, Razion (make sure these games are updated to their final versions), and also Knights Chance by Neobitz.
- No need to add a new power supply.
- No scaling issues.
- Side loading.
- Made in Canada.
What is the switch at the bottom of my Daedalus for?
The
switch is used for 9v-12v newer Neo Geo AES units and Metal Slug X. If you have
a newer neo system that uses a 9v or higher power supply, try playing MSX as is. If you get a black screen then you will need to use the switch which will enable
the MSX fix. The switch isn't required for first gen or 5v systems. The switch
should also be turned off after you've used it for MSX as this fix is for that
one title only.
